Larry Branson

Roy Orbison’s Christmas memory is captured forever in this timeless collection of Christmas songs including two brand new selections and performed in the unmistakable Orbison style by Larry Branson.

You'll read that Vancouver BC resident "Larry Branson IS Roy Orbison!" A phrase most commonly used by reviewers around the world when describing Branson's performances. The one missing dynamic in the Big O's history is that he never recorded a Xmas Album. This has been resolved with the official release of "An Orbison Xmas!" It had to be done and it was! Not with Roy, best known for his trademark sunglasses, distinctive, powerful voice, complex compositions, and dark emotional ballads BUT with Branson who naturally emulated all of Roy's aforementioned trademarks!

Recorded in Vancouver with the legendary Bobby Wood [ Elvis / Johnny Cash / Roy Orbison / The Highwaymen etc, ] at the helm as producer along with back ground vocals by the even more legendary Jordanaires, who were best known for providing vocal backgrounds for Elvis Presley in live appearances and recordings from 1956 to 1972, and a who's who of legendary rock and roll influencers.

The Big "O" / Larry Branson Christmas Sessions resulted in the recording of an amazing group of Xmas standards and 2 originals by Wood that, if you have your socks on, will knock them to the ground!

In an article about Branson they say - "His astounding re-creation of Roy Orbison in concert and on the theatre stage has earned him roles in many major productions including the "Legends of Rock'n'Roll"... "Legends In Concert"... "American Superstars"... and London's West End hit musical "The Roy Orbison Story" produced and directed by Bill Kenwright

Bill Kenwright the UK's largest independent theatre and film production company. It was no accident that brought Bill Kenwright together with Larry Branson. Just as it was no accident that "An Orbison Christmas " is a long awaited hair raising Seasonal Gem that, to quote the Worlds' most famous poet;

"I could a tale unfold, whose lightest word would harrow up thy soul, freeze thy young blood, make thy two eyes, like stars, start from their spheres, thy knotted and combined locks to part and each particular hair to stand an end, like quills upon the fretful porpentine."

Shakespeare conjured up many images in his works; few though, have been more vivid!

Now put another log on the fire, pour a glass of red, put your feet up, and drift away with Larry Branson, dream of Roy Orbison and prepare to have your hair stand on end!
