Carey Ott's relentless work ethic continues to pay off. He travels to Toronto, Canada, March 10-13 to be part of one of the most prolific and long-running music conferences in the world. CMW celebrates 28 years and continues to thrive amidst the recent turbulence in the industry.

Ott has been selected to play two showcases, participate as speaker and be a part of CMW's Mentors Cafe Series.

At 34, Ott is a veteran of the Indie music scene. Raised in small town Ottawa, Illinois, he refined his musical chops in Chicago and has resided in Nashville for the past five years.

Carey plays at the Conference Center at the Library Lounge Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13.

Limited Edition EP

To celebrate the occasion Ott has made up a limited edition CMW / EP with six songs from his upcoming CD release of Human Heart, a labor of love written and recorded over the past 2 years, he has made a powerful artistic statement based on love's harmony, charity, adversity, emotion and deep soul!

New Website

On top of all this, Carey launches his new website! You'll immediately gain insight into Ott's creative spirit and emotional depth. The front page features an insightful (and beautifully shot) video by Jim Quattrocki. Carey and Jim met and filmed the semi-biographical piece over three days in September 2009.

Summary

Ott has emerged as a true Renaissance man, composer, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer, teacher, painter and poet. His music is without boundaries. Creating with uninhibited abandon, he draws inspiration from the traditions of his heroes. From Randy Newman to Radiohead, Led Zeppelin to Leadbelly; Carey's influences weave into and out of his work more emotionally than musically, resulting in what he calls, "a reverent tapestry of musical gratitude."
