Carey Ott continues to mingle with Vampires and Werewolves on ABC Network's " The GATES " with his second song placement in a month.  How it feels to yearn for one who's wrong. We all know the feeling, the compulsion. Nelson Algren, who wrote the novel, A Walk on the Wild Side, advised, "Never sleep with a woman whose troubles are worse than your own." Sage words -that we've all ignored. Carey Ott sings of the compulsion to drown in the vortex of sin in "War Within. On ABC's The Gates' "Dog Eat Dog", airing 10 pm ET / PT Sunday, Aug.15. 2010, this song will track the lure of the vampire, the soul-guttering despair of the human heart when the object of one's obsession embodies the gates to Hell.As only Ott can do, he delivers the sensation of falling helplessly to eternal doom in the calm accepting voice of the irretrievably damned. He sings in the ethereal voice of ambivalence and obsession. He has crafted a gem from the brimstone of the abyss. You can hear the smile on his lips as he embraces that sad failing that provides the ecstasy of unquenchable desire. |

| About Carey
Born and raised in Chicago, Carey Ott has been making important inroads on the Indie scene since moving to Nashville from his hometown Chicago. Carey began his foray into the music world when he picked up his first guitar at the age of seven. The mid-90s saw Carey as front man for Chicago-based Torben Floor. By 1999, the band had called it quits and Carey began focusing on a solo career. Since then, Carey has released numerous tracks and in 2006 Carey released his critically acclaimed "Lucid Dream" CD. Fans of ABC television series "Grey's Anatomy" may be familiar with the "Lucid Dream" track "Am I Just One" featured on the 2006 episode "Tell Me Sweet Little Lies" And consequently two episodes thereafter. Proclaimed by One Time One columnist Joel Armato as possessing "a quality that no amount of marketing could embellish or hide." Carey's music and presence has been compared to likes of Jeff Buckley, Elvis Costello, and even Ray Davies. Stuart Renfro, freelance Chicago scribe, writes, "Carey is a man who works in the shops of melody but isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Carey Ott writes cinematic music. It's almost like he's shooting little movies on a super 8 camera each time he writes a song... But, perhaps most importantly, when you listen to Carey Ott deliver a song, you can feel the singer sitting right next to you, telling you the latest about some dark little adventure or a blue hole that opened up in a gray sky. No movie director gets that close." After, the success of "Lucid Dream" Carey's tenure at Dualtone came to an end early 2008. He proceeded to produce, write and co-write close to one hundred songs.
